Notes:

  • Community Check-ins

    • Syd (she/they) had a lovely week of spending time with people and having loving conversations.
    • Captain (they/them) is thinking a lot about creating art, drawing, the frustration that comes along with not having time or motivation to do it. They like to do the things they love, and sometimes its complicated.
    • Barbara schemes and makes plans that get complicated, so now there is an event that will happen. The Better Together Film Festival is happening across the country is about showing documentaries that have a discussion component. Its about bringing people together who may have differing opinions.
    • Hunter (he/him/they) been nose to the grind at work trying not to have a heat stroke in the field. The past few years they have been trying to get a publication written for some small mammal monitoring research they did in 2019. This has come back to them, so they have been working on it again recently.
    • Anna (she/her) her life has been a whirlwind recently, busy with work projects and visiting family. Sometimes it is hard to slow down, especially when you are already going fast. Its hard to be inside when she is always outside, its hard to be outside when she is always outside.
    • Tina (she/her) is thinking about the new garden she created this week. Preferably rabbit resistant and native pollinator plants, open to suggestions!
    • Garrett had a lot of time off lately and coming up because his company is in the transition of selling and needs to use up his PTO. He has been thinking about the weeds that are not native, but not super invasive and how he could leave them for pollinators. He has been into some woodworking projects! We should listen to Skunk Anansi.
    • Arden (she/they) don’t have a lot going on, but is excited about actually being in Morris this meeting. She is excited for the container visit this afternoon.
    • Susan has an art show opening at the PRCA, “Angst into Art”. It is climate related and cast metal, sculptural and 3D. Opens Wednesday July 15th. Nic’s mother passed recently and Susan gave a lovely description of who she was and how she loved to live.
    • Dan (he/him) has been trying to narrow down what he’s been thinking about, because even in one morning he can think about a lot of things. He swam 1000 yards straight and made us all giggle with his request for applause and desire to be called the “greatest swimmer in american history”. He did his first triathalon this spring! He was also thinking about how cool the people the Climate Network are! He is also enjoying the gardens outside of his house, and not taking credit for the good work Nancy and Cheryl did. He is also appreciating all the work he put in to replace the space where the trees went down.
