Notes:
Community Check In
- @syd is thinking about the false sense of “urgency” put into most things we do in life. Sins Invalid speaks more to this in their 10 Principles of Disability Justice under #6 Sustainability.
- @Nic_McPhee is thinking about how he is busy (of his own doing), and how he gets to teach a class he is excited about teaching his music course. He is thinking about what it means to phase into retirement.
- @cberthiaume is thinking about the next phase in their adult life. They are a bit nervous about navigating life back in the suburbs, and are always open to hearing about different job opportunities in environmental policy work.
- @Vern is feeling isolated in this community, but deeply enjoying the meaningful connections he has with people at various events around town.
- Joel is thinking about being in the middle of his career phase. He is asking himself questions like, “Where do I want to be when I’m closer to retirement?” “Do I really want to live in the cities?” “What do I enjoy about living in rural places?”
- @SandySunshine got discovered by her kiddos even though she was hiding! Giggles ensued. She is thinking about the waste system and how we all play a part in it wherever we are: at work, at home, driving on the road and watching folks spray fields with waste. She is curious to learn more about PFAS and how much they are impacting our lives. She is a visitor of Ruby’s Pantry in Barrett.
- @Cait_C is thinking about what it means to take on larger roles within organizations she is a part of. Does she want to do this? What will happen if she does not? How can she take on roles and still take care of herself? What does it mean to be a leader?
- Matthew is thinking about being present in the changing of the seasons. He appreciates this time of year for its cool air and peaceful vibes.
