January - Discussion on upcoming events including: Organics 3-year anniversary, Friends of Eastside Park meeting, and PDT watershed volunteering.
February - Announcements on the upcoming Crissy Dam Project and Land Stewardship Project’s Food Forum.
March - Tried a “group discussion on an activity/reading” structure, good conversation and genuine sharing ensued.
April - Processing together about the intensity of the political moment followed by the announcement that Open Mic Night will be starting!
May - In-person meeting, Kim shared about the OutFront MN event she coordinated, the WCROC Container Farming Project was brought up for the first time, and the City Tree Giveaways were shared.
Niemackl Field Trip! - Garrett, Julian, Barbara, Ted, Dan, Captain, Joel, and Syd carpooled out to Niemackl and walked around in the lovely weather. We stopped to look at birds in Dan’s scope, climbed the lookout tower, chatted with one another, and basked in the sunshine. It was a great way to spend time together.
June - Discussed Farmer’s Market Tabling, movie theatre volunteering, and PDT Paddle.
Flood assistance - Syd sent out an email asking for resources for a family who experienced drastic flooding and the Climate Network members showed up!
August - Discussed upcoming events and resources related to flooding
PDT River Run! - Many Climate Network members went on the 2025 PDT River Run. We kayaked/canoed down the Pomme de Terre on a lovely summer day!
September - Spent time sharing check-ins and re-scheduling the SWELL picnic, Joel gave an update on the container farming project
Seed Collection! - Hunter, Anna, Nic, and Garrett participated in seed collection with the USFWS. They harvested coneflowers and hiked around in the prairie! Nic’s Photo Album
October - Hybrid meeting, Syd brought up the idea of a rotational meeting guide practice, Jeff brought up the Movie Theatre slide, a container farming update was given
SWELL Field Trip! - Donna, Vern, Barbara, Ted, Nic, Anna, Hunter, and Syd went to SWELL and ate lunch on the classroom deck and identified trees and read informational signs. A lovely time was had! - Notes & Photo Album
November - Discussion on the purpose/description of the Climate Network was had, lots of ideas were brought up and a separate meeting for identifying language to describe the group was scheduled.
